Minutes of Annual General Meeting held at the Clubhouse Tuesday 3rd October 2023 Attendance and Apologies Chairman, B Taylor and 28 other members were present.   Apologies were noted from: J.Parker, G Blackley, T Herbert, G Anderson, D Low, R Coy, A Edwards, G Fisher, T Davis, J Gilfillan, J Campbell Minutes of AGM 2022 The minutes of the AGM 2022 were circulated, approved as a true record and signed by the Chairman. Matters Arising Referring to the Trial Period for the Thursday League, Gilmour McKellar gave a comprehensive review of the success of the League.   An amendment to the points awarded system was agreed.   Members thanked Gilmour for his hard work. Election of Officers The Officers and Committee were re-elected en bloc.     Chairman/Secretary, B Taylor; Treasurer, J Johnston; Competition Secretary, J Campbell; Handicap Secretary, D Wood; Match Secretary, J.Parker; Senior Open Organiser, G McKellar.  Members were advised that current Committee members were drawing up ‘Job Descriptions’ for their positions to better advise future nominees of what would be expected of them should they be elected.    Treasurer’s Report The Treasurer presented the accounts for the year ended 30th September 2023.   All relevant points were annotated and no questions arose.   Members approved the accounts containing honoraria agreed at the 2022 AGM Members voted to agree to a proposal that all subscriptions must be paid by 30th November.    Failure to do so would result in loss of Sandpiper membership.    Members wishing to re-apply could join a waiting list. Secretary’s Report The report, having been circulated, was received and is filed with these minutes. Annual Review of Honoraria Members agreed that they remained appropriate for 2023/24 at present levels Items for discussion 	Change of format of R B Thompson Trophy Members voted to retain the medal format 	Response to Penrith changes of matches to bi-ennial Members commissioned the Secretary to approach another club to play us, also on a bi-ennial basis, thereby retaining our annual 6 home and 6 away pattern. Presentation of Trophies The Chairman welcomed back Willie Smith and asked him to present the Trophies to those winners present The meeting closed at 15.00, whereupon Annual Subscriptions were collected.
